Socialization が足りない

 

　コロナ禍の世の中で、よく耳にする英単語。

オンライン英会話でフィリピンの先生と話していると、Socialize とか、 Socialization　という言葉が出てくる。

「あなたひとり暮らしなの？　コロナ禍で友だちにも会えないでしょう、どうやってSocialize してるの？」

　という具合だ。

「毎朝、オンラインで先生と話すのが唯一の Socialization です」

　と答えて、笑われた。

　フィリピンは家族や親族の絆が強いから、私のようなひとり暮らしは珍しいかも知れない。

　この前、初めて指名したシンディ先生は、眠たそうだった。いろいろ話題を振ってはみたものの、最後までノリの悪いレッスンになった。

　もうこの人に教わることはないだろうなぁ、と思った矢先、彼女から届いたレッスンレポートにびっくり！

Hello Miyasaka san!

It is a wonderful morning full of joyful thoughts. To have you in my class for the very first time is really an unexplainable pleasure, and it will always be. I just hope that you gasped something new that is very useful not just only in the class, but in your daily life.

Today's class was totally an amazing class and I did enjoy it, I hope you did too.

Well, great things happen when you start it from yourself, and it was great to know seeing how you thrive strenuously studying the English language. Anyhow, continue doing it and the possibilities to catch more knowledge would be always easy and fun.

 And never think that English is a very stressful language; think it in another way so it would go with the flow.

Nevertheless, you did great in class and I am very proud to say that. Thus, continue to inspire and be inspired. It will lead you to awesomeness. 

Furthermore, I would like to say thank you dearly for booking your class with me today. See you!

半信半疑で後日、もう一度シンディ先生のレッスンを予約した。

・・・やっぱり、けだるそうだった。笑

でも、その後届いたレッスンレポートは、再び表現力豊かな文章だった。

話すより、書く方が得意な人かも知れない。

または自分同様、コロナでSocialization が不足した人だったのかも。

こんな英文をスラスラ書けるようになれたら、と思う。
